Overview of Instant Payment Notification

In Cute Kart, you can enter an Instant Payment Notification URL (IPN URL) in the Cart Behavior Settings. Upon successful completion of a sale, Cute Kart will instantly post a notification of sale to the given URL.

This is useful if you wish to have your own website perform actions based on a sale at Cute Kart, such as post the sale details to your own database, or send additional emails to the customer or yourself.

An HTTP request method of "POST" is used, and several variables with information about the sale are posted to your URL.

In PHP the variables will be accessible through the $_POST array, in Coldfusion the variables will be accessible using the FORM. structure. See the list of form variables that are posted:Fields Posted

It is best to use a secure SSL url, such as https://mysite. com, but is it not necessary. See more in the Security Information Section.

For Purchases Within a Category

You can specify a notification URL (IPN URL) for each product Category you create in Cute Kart. Upon successful completion of a sale containing product(s) in the Category, Cute Kart will post a notification of sale to to your URL.

You may specify a different IPN URL for each Category. If you wish to have Cute Kart post a notification to the same URL for all sales, see below for specifying a Global IPN URL for All Purchases. Note: If you specify a Global IPN URL and also an IPN URL for a Category, then Cute Kart will post the sale information to both your Global IPN URL and your Category IPN URL.

When a sale is completed for a product in the Category, Cute Kart will instantly perform a hidden form post to your IPN URL you entered for the Category.

If several products are sold in one sale transaction, the IPN will post information about All the products sold to the URL for all Categories represented the sale. If a Category is not represented by at least 1 product in the sale, then no form post will occur to the Category IPN URL.

In short, information for all products in the sale is posted to all Categories represented in the sale.

Security Information

Your Cute Kart Login Password will be Included in the POSTed variables. It is important to check that the password variable "PASSWORD" - $_POST['PASSWORD'] - is actually a POST (form) variable, and that it is equal to your actual Cute Kart password. It is important to hard-code this check directly into your post program to prevent hackers from posting to your URL.
